Recovery from Stage 4 Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer - Ron McCutcheon’s Story

Updated: Apr 15, 2022

Ron McCutcheon was diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer in 2017 and given 2-4 months to live. Instead, he made a full recovery through dietary changes, and in the process also recovered from COPD.

Prior to 2013, Ron McCutcheon had been suffering from COPD for years. While medication and an inhaler addressed his COPD symptoms, he was prone to respiratory infection, and it was not uncommon for him to be hospitalized 2-3 times per year with pneumonia.

Then in 2013, Ron was diagnosed with stage 1 non-small cell lung cancer. His doctors quickly addressed it by removing the middle lobe of his right lung. Over the next 3-4 years, he continued dealing with the symptoms of COPD, as well as multiple bouts of: lung infections, pneumonia, MRSA infections and congestive heart failure.

Ron’s lung cancer returned in 2017, this time as stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. It had moved to his other lung and metastasized outside of his lungs. Ron was told chemotherapy and radiation would give him a 5% chance of living a year. Without treatments, he was told he only had 2-4 months to live. While Ron was concerned about the negative impact radiation would have on his heart due to his history of congenital heart failure, he agreed to try the conventional cancer treatments strongly recommended by three different oncologists. After one round each of chemotherapy and radiation, it was the cost that convinced him to stop conventional treatments. Ron questioned why he was putting himself through the expensive treatments and side effects when he (i) couldn’t afford the co-pays and (ii) had less than a year left to live anyway. Despite the strong pressure he received from his oncologists to continue chemotherapy and radiation, Ron decided he would rather have a decent quality of life for four months than be miserable from chemotherapy and radiation for his final year on earth.

While Ron was working with the oncologists, he simultaneously began looking into alternative cancer treatments and started doing the following:

  • Changed his diet by eating much healthier, including replacing sugar and sweets with mostly fruits and vegetables;

  • Drinking Essiac Tea twice per day;

  • Ingesting a baking soda (1 tsp) and honey (3 tsp) mixture, stirred together on low heat for 10 minutes and then diluted in green tea or water, twice per day;

  • Periodically ingesting food grade hydrogen peroxide by putting a few drops in water or coffee.

Ron says he drank both the Essiac Tea and baking soda & honey mixture twice per day on an empty stomach, so his body would absorb the nutrients much faster without any interference from other foods. While he didn’t take both at the same exact time, he did drink them within an hour of each other. He found all of the information on the baking soda & honey mixture on YouTube and used pH strips to monitor his body's acidity level.

Ron’s results were incredible:

  • Within 3 months, more than 90% of Ron’s lung cancer was gone. All that was left were 2 little spots on his right lung.

  • Within 18 months he had another scan and learned his cancer was 100% gone.

  • No negative side effects.

  • Ron is completely off his COPD inhalers and medications.

Today, Ron still drinks the baking soda and honey mixture in his tea everyday. While he is not as strict about his diet as he was when he had cancer, he is much more conscientious about what he puts in his body and still considers his diet to be very healthy. He is extremely happy to have regained control over his health and wellbeing.
