Dr. Max Gerson developed the Gerson Therapy in the 1930s initially to treat his own migraines, which were incurable with conventional medicine. As he shared his treatment plan with others, he soon learned that it helped with many chronic illnesses, including cancer.

The Gerson Therapy treats the underlying cause of disease: toxicity and nutritional deficiency. Its premise is that by addressing these causes and returning the body chemistry to normal, it reactivates the body's ability to heal itself. The Gerson Therapy consists of a very strict organic, plant-based diet, raw juices, coffee enemas (for liver detoxification) and natural supplements (to replace those missing from modern food).

As with any type of full wellness support, it is important to fully research and form your own opinion on the Gerson Therapy in partnership with a healthcare professional. Below are some resource links to help you get started.

The Gerson Institute was founded by Charlotte Gerson, the daughter of Dr. Max Gerson, in 1978 to raise, maintain and spread awareness of the Gerson Therapy to people around the world. It is one of the best sources of information available on the Gerson Therapy.

"THE GERSON MIRACLE introduces us to the physician who developed The Gerson Therapy more than 75 years ago a therapy that has proven to cure cancer and most other chronic and degenerative diseases. Through his own painful struggle with migraines, Dr. Max Gerson conceived a treatment based entirely on nutrition and the body's own ability to heal itself. He cured his migraines and summarily concentrated on other methods that prove to naturally boost the immune system. This is the real miracle. Nine current and former patients speak passionately about their successful recoveries from the most deadly cancers. Their first-person recovery stories are the greatest testament to the therapy's efficacy. And it is through Dr. Gerson s daughter, Charlotte, that the therapy is still alive in the face of almost insurmountable opposition from the American Medical Association and most major pharmaceutical companies. This film offers a path to a healthier life, in tune with our bodies and environment, not in conflict with them." - Amazon Editorial Review
